We do not release products. We introduce works into a canon.

The Name

MAIS — French for but. The word that interrupts. The root of maison: a house, a place where things are made with intention.

EUM — the ending of museum, coliseum, mausoleum. Places that hold what matters long enough to outlast the people who made it.

Together: a house that challenges. A museum that lives. And you are welcome here.

The House

MAISEUM is a fragrance and objects house structured as a living museum. Exhibitions are the vehicle. Fragrance is the medium. Storytelling is the architecture. Community is the reason any of it exists.

We are small by design. Not scaling toward small — small as a structural decision. The scarcity is real because the intention is real.

The Canon
Exhibition I

Memphis

On December 11, 1980, the Memphis Movement was founded in Ettore Sottsass's Milan apartment — Bob Dylan on repeat. It understood something mainstream design still refuses to accept: functionality without personality is just furniture. Exhibition I begins there.

Sottsass

We named our second fragrance after him. Not as homage. As continuation.

The Storytellers

Every work is co-authored with the wearer

The people who make with us — perfumers, fabricators, artists — are our storytellers. Our collaborators. Our leading co-creators. And the final author is you. A fragrance is unfinished until someone lives in it, folds it into a memory, carries it somewhere we never imagined. You are not the audience. You are part of the canon.

“The way you truly interpret the world is mainly through your senses.” — Ettore Sottsass

We are still learning.
